Savings on Travel and Vacations
Learn how you can save on your travel and vacations with
the money-saving tips listed below. Try out some cheap family
vacation ideas.
- Save your small plastic soda and water bottles, especially those
with closable tops. Fill them with tap water for your long car
trip.
- Pack a cooler with fruit and sandwiches for a long car trip.
- Pick off-peak times of year to stay at resorts and rentals. Friends
of ours stay at a beach house on the Atlantic coast for 1/2 the normal
rate by going in March.
- If you are eating out, find out the most popular restaurants that
the locals eat at - this will provide you your best food for the money.
- Take advantage of the free breakfast that hotels give you. Then have
a large late lunch. Generally, you get more food for the money at
a lunch compared to a dinner. Dinners can consist of a takeout
pizza or other snacks in your room.
- Find a hotel with an indoor waterpark near you and spend a weekend
or overnight. For a little under $200 you can enjoy a getaway
where you swim, take in the waterslides, and have a movie night in the
room with the kids. This is a fun way to spend cold winter weekend!
