Savings on Medical and Dental Insurance Costs
Here are some great money save on dental costs, and save
on health insurance costs and health care costs:
- Get generic prescription medications instead of buying brand name. A
generic drug must have the same active ingredients as the brand name
drug in order for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to approve the
generic. Some of the non-active ingredients (fillers) may vary so you
should consult your physician before using generics. This can save you
between 30% to 50% or more.
- Ask your physician if there are over-the-counter medications
that might meet your needs instead of the pricier prescription drugs.
- Live a healthy lifestyle. Being overweight can cause many
health problems. Stop smoking and excessive alcohol use. Eat a
balanced diet.
- Exercise! Read about some of the free benefits of exercise at
gsu.edu.
- Practice good dental hygiene to prevent expensive dental bills.
- Brush twice a day with an ADA accepted fluoride toothpaste to
remove plaque, the leading cause of tooth decay and gum disease.
- Brush your tongue whenever you brush your teeth.
- Floss every day to remove plaque from between your teeth and under
your gumline.
- Eat a balanced diet and limit sugary snacks and soda pop.
- Visit the dentist regularly for cleanings and checkups.
